Arrests and Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a total of 11 individuals across various locations, including Patna, Godhra, and Dehradun. These arrests include candidates and other individuals allegedly involved in the malpractice. The government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) have filed affidavits in the Supreme Court, asserting that only 47 candidates are suspected of involvement in the paper leak.

Supreme Court's Response

In the previous hearing, the Supreme Court had directed the NTA to provide details about the timing and method of the question paper leak. The government has emphasized that data analytics conducted by IIT-Madras show no signs of widespread cheating or unfair advantages to specific groups of candidates.

Future Proceedings

The government has stated that any candidate found benefiting from malpractice will have their candidature canceled at any stage of the counseling process. To ensure the integrity of future examinations, a high-level committee has been formed to recommend robust measures to enhance transparency and fairness in exams conducted by the NTA.
